Crunchy Cacao & Matcha Protein Balls

*Vegan, Gluten-Free, Soy-Free, Grain-Free



1 cup soaked macadamia nuts (soaked overnight or for at least 4 hours)
3 tbsp raw cacao powder
1 tbsp organic virgin coconut oil, melted
1/2 tsp vanilla extract
3 pitted dates
*2 tsp raw honey (*or vegan natural sweetener of choice)
1 tsp matcha powder
Pinch of Himalayan sea salt
2 tbsp raw cacao nibs
Unsweetened shredded coconut to roll the balls in
Extra pinch of matcha to colour/ flavour the coconut


  1. In a food processor, add in all ingredients except the Cacao nibs, shredded coconut and extra matcha.

  2. Process until it becomes a smooth, sticky dough like substance. The nuts are fully broken down.

  3. Add the mixture to a mixing bowl and stir in the cacao nibs (if you find it tricky to incorporate fully - use those hands!).

  4. Place the bowl in the freezer for 5 minutes so that they are easier to roll.

  5. Take your shredded coconut and add a pinch of matcha to it, mix till the coconut is green.

  6. Take your bowl out of the freezer. Begin making tbsp sized balls by rolling on the palm of your hand.

  7. Roll each ball in the green coconut mix, coat with as much coconut as you want. You may have to press down lightly to get more to stick

  8. Once all of the mixture is rolled, chill in the fridge for 10-15min before enjoying.

  9. Store in a container in the fridge.
